Seems like a good swap, but more seriously our manager has been forced to dismiss rumours linking him with the Aberdeen job.
Rumours spread across the internet over the weekend, fuelled by some speculation in Sunday Papers that the Well boss would be heading to Aberdeen to replaced recently sacked Mark McGhee.
The Dons fans seem to recognise the job Brown did when he steadied the Motherwell ship after the dismissal of Jim Gannon last season, and steered the Steelmen away from relegation and into a European place.
When he took the Well job on the veteran manager did say this would be his last job in football BUT could he be lured north by promises of money to spend? Although that could prove to be an empty promise given the financial position of Aberdeen, particularly having to pay off managers every two or three years!
The Well boss has been force to say today, “It is well known that myself and Willie Miller are good friends and I’m sure if there was anything in it he would have been in contact. That has not been the case.
“So the whole situation is hypothetical and all I am interested in is concentrating on the job in hand at Motherwell.”
Looking at it from the outside you would wonder why you would leave a job that brings little pressure, and has a supportive Chairman to one with high expectations and a Director of Football and a Chairman who constantly have their finger on the trigger.
If he does choose to go I will be sorry to see him go but will always be grateful for the job he has done in the last year for our club.
