Motherwell came back from 6-2 down to snatch a 6-6 draw with Hibs in the battle for fourth last night.
This was a crazy night that saw Motherwell come back from 1-4 down and then 2-6 down to Hibs and stay slightly ahead of the visitors in the race for fourth spot.
The goals came in the following fashion;
11 mins - 0-1 - Nish sidefoots home a Wotherspoon cross.
16 mins - 1-1 - Coke scores from clsoe range from a Jutkiewicz cross
20 mins - 1-2 - Nish scores again this time from a Rankin cross
28 mins - 1-3 - Coke makes disastrous pass back allowing Riordan to round Ruddy and score from an acute angle.
36 mins - 1-4 - Nish scores hat trick thanks to a cross from Stokes
39 mins - 2-4 - Sutton diving header from an O'Brien cross to give Well fans hope going into the second half....
....The hope didn't last too long....
56 mins - 2-5 - Stokes turn to score from close range, thanks to a Miller cross
65 mins - 2-6 - Stokes scores again prodding home a Riordan cross at the front post.
Things look bleak but two minutes later things take a turn for the better;
67 mins - 3-6 - O'Brien shot from 18 yards rebounds off the post and falls into the path of Coke to bundle home from close range.
72 mins - 4-6 - Smith makes a hash of a Tom Hateley free kick and allows it to bounce tameley into the net.
76 mins - 5-6 - Sutton powers a header high into the net from an O'Brien corner.
Ideal chance to equalise as Forbes sees a penalty saved by Smith after the keeper had felled Jutkiewicz in the box
93 minutes 6-6 the comeback is complete when Jutkiewicz fires an unstoppable volley high past the hapless Smith!
Having seen Motherwell lost 5-6 once and then take part in two 5-4 games, this one seems to have topped the lot for drama, mainly thanks to the last gasp drama of the equaliser.
Let's hope we can finish the job on Sunday and finish in fourth....
