Although Motherwell have no game this weekend the manager Craig Brown has kept himself busy this week.

While the first team squad have been on holiday this week the Well boss has kept himself busy in their absence.

He has been looking after the training for the Under 19 squad ahead of a couple of League games, starting with a 3-0 win over St. Mirren yesterday.

The theory behind him getting involved with the squad was to stop them getting overawed when they make it into the first team squad in the future - a tremendous idea if you ask me.

He has also been busy trying to talk to the "representatives" of players out of contract in the summer, too long a list to mention! He has stated he want to keep all of them but a couple feel the offer made is not high enough, and want more if they want to stay.

He has confirmed that two new players will be required with the two Everton loanees not staying for next season. It looks as though we can't afford to keep hold of keeper John Ruddy and striker Lukas Jutkiewicz (a bit of a heartbreaker that news was!).

While Broonie has been at Fir Park, his "colleague" Arhcie Knox has been despatched to Barcelona to pick up tips from watching them train, while also taking in the Barca v Stuttgart game on Wednesday - tough work if you ask me!

From Monday though it is full steam ahead in preparation for the Dundee Utd game at Tannadice next Saturday..
