Well boss Craig Brown led his troops to their 9th League game without defeat with the 1-0 win over Kilmarnock on Saturday.
Jamie Murpy's 69th minute goal was enough to secure all three points as Motherwell once again never looked like losing a goal at the other end.
This means we have ony lost one goal in nine games since the turn of the year, that against Champions elect Rangers. This solidity at the back is now giving the more forward thinking players a platform to build upon.
It is also giving the whole side the confidence that they will not lose many games if they are not losing goals - not rocket science really!
This is not a stereotypical Craig Brown side though, it is not a defensive style, as the side is still playing some great football and getting the ball forward quickly when they can.
So far Brown and Knox have passed every test that has been put in front of them, and people are now talking about third place for Motherwell as they come up on the blind side of Dundee Utd and Hibs.
I will believe that is possible if we exend the run on Saturday at Perth against a St. Johnstone side that Motherwell have only taken one point from in two attempts, and follow it up without losing at Paisley next Tuesday.
