Ross Forbes

Motherwell looked like causing a shock for an hour thanks to Ross Forbes first half goal before three second half goals ended the dream.

Motherwell made a great start to the game and visiting keeper Rufay Zapata was forced to save from a header from Sutton, then he had to push a Murphy shot wide from 18 yards out.

They then took the lead after 17 minutes, a Paul Slane corner was headed into the path of Ross Forbes from Shaun Hutchinson and his volley left the keeper helpless as the ball ended up in the net via the inside of the post.

Well had a decent penalty shout turned down when Murphy's shot appeared to hit the hand of Ghionea but the inept offical waved the appeals away.

The first goal in the second half was always going to be crucial and after Forbes saw a shot beaten out by the keeper Steaua went up the other end and scored with their first real attacke.

Stancu cut inside O'Brien before tumbling in the box and the ref had no hesitation in pointing to the spot for what looked a soft award. Marin stepped up to send keeper Ruddy the wrong way.

The visiting keeper had to react quickly once again to keep out a shot from sub McHugh who volleyed on the turn. Minutes later the visitors doubled their lead with a stunning shot from Stancu from 35 yards out.

With six minutes left we were ripped apart on the counter attack when Grzelak found time to roll the ball to Stancu who had time to roll the ball past Ruddy.

Jim Gannon's frustration got the better of him towards the end of the game and he was sent to the Stand when he showed how he felt after another penalty claim had been waved away.
