Boss Mark McGhee felt we had done enough to spoil the party at Love Street yesterday and believes we are making progress after lat week's win over Inverness and he is hoping we can carry this on in the game against Hearts against Wednesday at Fir Park. On the Stephen McGinn challenge on Paul Quinn in the box in the final minute McGhee said, "The one at the end wasn't given, so what can I say?"  "There is absolutely no doubt there was a couple of penalty shouts but these things happen. It wasn’t given and I can’t say anything.” Saturday marked Saints' final home league game before they move to their new stadium in the Ferguslie Park area of Paisley later this month. “We were aware of the occasion but we told the players to ignore what was going on in the periphery and concentrate on the game.” McGhee insists his players arrived at the old ground determined to spoil the party - and claims they should have returned to Fir Park with all three points. He said: "If anyone deserved to win the game, we did. It was a good, competitive game. For the last game here, 0-0 sounds like it was a bit drab for anybody who wasn’t here but I thought it was all right. "We were looking forward to coming here today because we knew there was going to be a crowd. It was good to see Love Street with all these people and I just hope they turn up at the new ground. "We were here to spoil the party - we haven't completely done that - but it was a decent performance." Motherwell have picked up four points from their last two games and McGhee is hoping they have turned the corner following a disappointing first half to the season. He added: "Today was progression from last week. We won last week and we drew today but this was a much harder game for us. "I'm satisfied that results have been all right for us. I think we are still in contention to claw ourselves into the top six and we have an opportunity with a  game in hand on Wednesday to improve again , and get a goal and hopefully beat Hearts.” On keeping a clean sheet he added, “I think the people in front of the defence did well and you know me by now that we defend from the front by keeping the ball and the two strikers were excellent today and that makes a contribution to the nil nil.” He also confirmed that Keith Lasley will be suspended for Wednesday and that Marc Fitzpatrick is suffering with a virus but could be available again.
