News: Yakubu kicking a ball again

Everton have been boosted by the return to action of Yakubu who has taken to the field and been kicking a ball around with no complications.

The Yak has been with the squad in North America, but only to work on his fitness, there is no chance of him getting a game in the tour having had no physical action since picking up his injury in November.

But he has played a part in a practice game against a Major League Soccer All-Stars side.

Everton return to the UK at the end of the week for three friendlies ahead of the new season against Coventry, Blackpool and Malaga.

Yakubu could have a run-out in one of the home-based friendlies.
