Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has said that there is no way he would be willing to sell Nedum Onuoha as he intends to hand onto homegrown talent.
There is speculation that Onuoha is a target for Everton and many have thought that a deal could be done with him and cash for Joleon Lescott who City are desperate to get hold of.
But Hughes does not want to let the 22-year-old academy graduate leave after he had such a cracking season last time around.
"Nedum is one of our finest young players," Hughes said in the Manchester Evening News.
"He was outstanding for us last season, and I am not looking to move one of our prize assets away from City."
