It’s looking like Everton are going to win the race to sign Sheffield United full-back Kyle Naughton, well the club are confident anyway.
Naughton is set for talks with boss David Moyes after the players personal terms were discussed over the weekend.
All was looking good until the Blades delayed the deal when Tottenham came in with a counter offer in an attempt to steal the 20 year old from under their noses.
Naughton yesterday held talks with Spurs manager Harry Redknapp in Exeter, where he was preparing his team for a friendly, but Naughton has privately expressed a desire to move to Goodison Park, where he would be reunited with former Blades team-mate Phil Jagielka.
The problem with Kyle Walker, another Blades youngster, may be sorted. Tottenham want £8 million for the pair and Everton may be willing to pay that and let the youngster stay with Sheffield United on a loan deal.
