Albion Ladies will pip the men to the post at the Battle of Waterloo.

Both Albion teams, men and ladies, will be making their way north to Waterloo in Liverpool for the first day of the season.  The Plymouth Albion Ladies have managed to rearrange their first fixture of the season to be played at 11:30 on Saturday 2nd September three and a half hours before the men kick off.

Waterloo Rugby Football Club last year won a double promotion with the men promoted to National League 1 and the Ladies side to Premiership II.  

The Ladies Premiership matches are normally played on a Sunday and the match between Albion Ladies and Waterloo was set for Sunday afternoon and Head Coach Tristan Foster was delighted that it has been rearranged.  He hopes that this will increase the crowd that normally watch their matches, but understands that not many of the travelling supporters from Plymouth will make it up the 293 miles for the kick off. Hopefully more will be there for the second half to cheer the Albion Ladies on, and clap them off, as hopefully they come away with a win and go top of their league.

Our Ladies team has a number of students in their side that have yet to returned to Plymouth and training with the rest. The squad so the first full game of the season will  not be easy but the squad are very confident of a satisfactory outcome.

The move of the fixture has allowed some very lucky members of the ladies team to travel in the men's team coach on the Friday afternoon. The rest of the ladies squad will be travelling up in a minibus,  The ladies and men will however not be sharing the hotel accommodation.

For those of you that will not be travelling to Waterloo, or not be up there in time for the 11:30 kick off, the return matches also coincide and again both matches will be played on Saturday 25th November.
