A brief report of todays disapointing 1-1 draw with Middlesbourgh at Anfield. Read On For Full Story. Yet another frustraing day at the office for Gerard Houllier's side against a Boro outfit who had not scored on their travels since September 2002.

In fact the Liverpool Boss was not in attendence for todays match as he was feeling under the weather.

Without Houllier Liverpool could only manage a frustrating 1-1 draw in which The Reds should have burried Steve McClaren's men by half-time but was not to be as it was yet another frustrating day at Anfield.

With Liverpool failing to make the most of the chances they had it was inevitable that Boro's first effort of the game would bring.

Liverpool's Finnish Captain Sami Hyypia fouled Jonathan Greening just outside the box and the free-kick was beautifully curled over The Reds wall and past Jerzy Dudek into the top corner by Geremi to end an away goal drought of 13 hours and nine minutes for Boro.

Owen was working the flanks to get away from Chris Riggott and Gareth Southgate, and his refusal to give in finally got Liverpool their equaliser. He ran at three defenders and created a chance for Diouf, before the ball broke for Riise to crash home with his left foot.
