Callum Davidson should have recovered from a calf injury in time for the derby with Wigan and is likely to take the place of Eddie Lewis (appendix).

Goalkeeper Andy Lonergan and midfielder Eric Skora are long-term absentees.

Nathan Ellington returns to Wigan's starting line-up for the trip to local rivals Preston.

Defender Emerson Thome could be included in the squad but is unlikely to feature while left-back Leighton Baines is hoping for a return.
