Ex-Motherwell defender Eric Deloumeaux came back to haunt his old club scoring the winner in todays match giving Aberdeen a 2 - 1 win. Stevie Ferguson started his third game in a row for Motherwell after Stephen Pearson had failed to shake off his injury but the good news for ' Well fans was the return of Captain Scott Leitch to the side.


A penalty award for Motherwell after Keith Lasley was brought down inside the area midway through the first half and allowed James McFadden to give Motherwell the lead shortly before half time scoring his 6th goal of the season in only eleven games.


With Scotland manager Berti Vogts in the crowd the pressure was on for the young Scots in the Motherwell and Aberdeen teams to do well and maybe get a call up the full squad.


Motherwell's lead was short lived when Aberdeen equalised one minute after the restart, Derek Young scored from the tightest of angles after the ball had came off Stevie Woods and the hitman didn't hesitate in putting the ball into the net and the Aberdeen comeback was complete when Delouemeux pounced from eight yards to volley the ball home past Stevie Woods and send the visitors home with all three points.
