Walsall have signed defender Darren Bazeley after he was released by Wolves last week. Walsall boss Colin Lee is already familiar with the right back having signed him from Watford during his spell as Wolves boss.

Bazeley has had a mainly unhappy time at the Molineux blighted by injury.

It is thought that Bazeley will be a straight forward replacement for Ian Brightwell.

Lee spoke to the Walsall official website about his new signing. "I took him from Watford and always enjoyed working with him at Wolves. He is a right-back and that is a position we were in need of filling but Darren is a versatile player who can play in a number of positions.

"Darren has a proven track record in the First Division and I am looking forward to working with him this season,"
