Darren Ward is a consistent goalkeeper. Consistent in performance- consistent in fitness. Nicknamed 'Wardy' by the fans, he is one of the finest keepers outside of the Premiership.

Ward has played for all 3 Nottinghamshire sides and as a result is not a favourite at Notts County who see the shot-stopper as a real Judas.

Due to the consistency of Darren Ward- Barry has not had much of a chance in the first-team and as a result has often found himself rotting away in the reserves. Upon getting a chance to impress in the 2003/2004 whilst Darren was having an operation, Barry did well- but a 'coffee cup incident' vs. Derby made him look worse than he was.
