Russell's future at Darlo?

Recent reports coming from the Darlington camp suggest that wonder-keeper, Sam Russel's future lies at the Williamson Motors Stadium. Speaking to Darlington's official website, Mark Proctor appears confident that Sam Russell will continue to play for Darlington.

"There is two parties who both want to go in the same direction" he commented.

Russell has apparently indicated that he wants to stay but there are some parts of the deal which have to be sorted out before Darlington can offer a contract to last season's player of the year.

Meanwhile, Darlington have also offered a contract to 24-year-old goalkeeper, Bertrand Bossu. The former Gillingham 'keeper has neither declined or accepted the offer and is supposedly mulling over different offers from other clubs. If recent reports are true, however, if Bossu was to sign for the Quakers, it would appear he would have to settle for a place on the bench.

In other news, David Hodgson is set to return from family holiday early next week. Hodgson and Proctor will then meet to discuss contact re-newals, trialists etc.
