Like everyone else I've been a bit upset by Micky's departure but we have to move on and I've got my top three choices I'd like to see as the next manager. In no particular order:

Ronnie Moore - I suggested this on here the other day and it got a mixed reaction but he's Tranmere through and through, knows the club inside out and has unfinished business here.

Jerell Floyd-Hasselbaink - He has a good record in the lower leagues and had success at Burton before being poached by QPR. Internationally renowned as well so will have contacts.

Graham Westley - Again, a solid record in lower leagues with success at Stevenage and a real veteran of leagues one and two. Quite eccentric which may go against him but we could need something like that to give the players a kick up the backside. Coukd bring in a no nonsense assistant like Dino Maamria too.

I'd be interested to hear which managers feature in other people's top three choices.

Tisdale. Proven record of success and is superb at spotting cheap talent and selling on at a profit.

Cottrell.... gets teams promoted

Nicky cowley..... bit of a cheeky one ! But would he like a shot at the big chair himself rather then always being in Danny's shadow. Proven track record as a number 2

Bit of a mad one here. Ricki Herbert. Managed New Zealand in the 2010 World Cup, player for New Zealand in WC 1982, managed the Maldives, most of his club management is in New Zealand and he's experienced.

Plus Wellington Phoenix is where Chris Greenacre played so if Greenie is still on Riki's speed dial he could get Greenie as a coach or at least as a guy with inside track on Tranmere.

Currently managing a semi-pro club called Ba FC in Fiji, so the compo shouldn't be too much.

Paul Ifill played for him, ex Sheffield United, Crystal Palace and Millwall player, so he could be a possible coach, as he's done it before, but he does have links with a couple of academies in New Zealand, so that might scupper the chances of bringing him in.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

We already had too many Herbert's as manager thank you. You can now get 25/1 on Sven Goran Erikson, fill yer boots!! Ulrikakaka as assistant manager.

Ha ha, after MP fell on his sword in the Sven-gate scandal I won't be taking 25/1!

Some weird names in the running, according to the bookies. It must be a tiny market because I'm seeing people asking for a price on Twitter and soon after the name appears at something like 20/1. Just a couple of bets could be causing massive shifts in the odds.

I reckon the eventual appointment will be much more mainstream. A few bob on Lowe or Tisdale or even John Coleman at long odds could be worth a punt.
