Prediction.... Fleet 1-2 Rovers...Barton gets red carded...as he walks down the tunnel he receives a black eye, loses 3 of his front teeth, and is knocked out cold in an altercation with a Rovers official who tw*ts him good style, but there is nobody there to witness it and the Fleetwood tunnel video cam is out of order over the weekend...HAPPY DAYS!

Always see us getting something from every game, but for the first time ever Iโ€™ve got a bad feeling. Cup win hangover maybe, but Iโ€™ll take a 0-1 away win.

No chance - have you seen what he's been saying about Micky and us? I don't think I've ever heard such a complimentary pre-match from an opposition manager

0-1 to Rovers. Think the Adrenalin from Wednesday will keep us going. We should also play a defensive, counter attacking game.

Will be my first visit to their ground, looking forward to a good day out. Me and three others driving up. ๐Ÿ‘

I think there needs to be some realism. The Wednesday exertion may have taken its toll. However, given rivals below us play eachother over next two weeks, and Tranmere play Accrington, Wimbledon and Lincoln over next few weeks,, it isn't a catastrophe if Tranmere lose.
Hopefully, there will be 'daylight' between Tranmere and the relegation group by Christmas, even if Fleetwood win.

As Fifty said on the other thread, a hard-fought 1-1 would be a decent, solid result ahead of a break from the league then some real 6-pointers coming up in December.

Lol, I am only fooling n joking around and taking the rise out of that little Liverpudlian ragamuffin, the naughty boy from the big bad city, lol...Barton can be as complimentary as he wants but i still hope his Fleetwood side get a good tonking from the Rovers tmrw..

Perkins, Danns and, surprisingly, Ridehalgh back in contention for tomorrow. Apparently Rides didn't break his foot after all. Interesting to see if he gets back in ahead of Borthwick-Jackson.

It'd be great to back up Wednesday's result but it's another toughie. Even so, I'll go for 1-1.

With Wilson out it could be both Rides and CBJ, if he goes for 3 centre-halves and wing-backs.

We will win 2-0. A goal in see each half. They won't offer much threat at all. We won't exactly glide through with ease but it will be very satisfying.

Fleetwood and Diamonds FC. Hopefully with the same end as the other Diamonds.

Would be happy with a draw. A win could be asking a bit much after the effort put in on Wednesday night. In fact it is probably more likely that we struggle on Saturday due to all the extra time and general tiredness. But still hoping for hoping for at least a draw......!!!!!

We were the better team for long periods today and would have merited the win more than they did. A decent showing considering the midweek exertions and ultimately extremely unlucky. Seeing their keeper voted as MOTM tells you everything you need to know!

It as you know ended up 7-1 but don't worry Bolton will appeal to the EFL due to reasons beyond their control they lost the game and have it either replayed or a new score determined by independent panel.

The worrying thing for me is that was a reasonable performance and we came away with nothing. Take nothing away from Fleetwood. They managed the game well and scored with their only two chances on goal. We worked hard, dominated the second half and I am sure if we had scored a few minutes earlier the result would have been a draw.

Micky got his substitutions right. Their goal came from a very iffy free kick, a symptom of the referee being useless. I have lost count of how many times he let fouls on our players go whereas we only had to fart within quarter of a mile of one of the Fleetwood lads for them to get a kick.

Frustrating but we dust ourselves down and go again.

Keep the faith.

That so called referee, who looked like he was some random fat guy they had dragged out of the pub and gave a whistle to, was truly abysmal. It was like he had spoken to both Fleetwood CBs prior to the game and told them they had carte blanche to stop Ferrier, in particular, in any way they wanted without any fear of him awarding a free kick against them. Quite obvious fouls commited by those two that he waved on must have been in double figures in the first half alone. I was amazed he didn`t try to reset a scrum during the 96 minutes.

Does anyone think the ref was in any way influenced by what happened to one of his fellow ref's at PP last weekend against WW ? Like,..they all stick together ?

I agree Zint - overall we played well but we still lost - that is a massive concern to me as we don't seem street wise enough at this level. First goal was a goal kick to us yes BUT CBJ trying to pass it to Jennings on the edge of our box - stupid beyond belief! Their second also far far too easy - CBT in no man's land let their player free so Manny had to go out wide to cover and suddenly a gap in the middle and it was 2-0 far far too easy. Pretty much their only attempt to get forward in the second half and they score easily.
How their keeper got MOM is beyond me - he made an ok save from CBT and another late on from along the floor but he missed a cross when MM header was saved on the line and did nothing else as our other shots missed the goal.
Disappointing and results went against us as well...

Totally agree with ADD regarding their keeper getting MOM; the only save of any significance was the cross that ended up on target that he pushed away. To be fair, the keeper looked equally surprised when it was announced. Although we exerted quite a lot of pressure, we didn't particularly test the keeper and it gives a skewed impression for those that weren't there. However, the margins were fine again and we had a lot of possesion and they literally parked the bus after the first goal, as if they were the away side. The second goal came from an incisive and quick counter attack of which they had a few in the second half, but not much more than that.
The noticeably overweight referee was out of breath after 5 minutes (shocking considering he's one of the youngest according to the Fleetwood "programme"; a ยฃ1 for the programme which sums up it's value, in fact over-priced at that if you ask me with one page regarding Tranmere containing three photos and one sentence). The two decisions he made, of many, that particularly rankled, were for the free kick that led to the first goal, which Connor toe-poked the ball away and the Fleetwood player went down like he had demolition explosives inserted up his nether regions; the second decision was when the goalkeeper thought he could play football and gave the ball away outside his box and the ref bizarrely gave handball. Even if it had hit a hand/arm, which it didn't, how he could have seen it is beyond me as the player had his back to the ref, who was behind the play as per usual. At least Ferrier's made a new chum, with lots of hugging and close contact from the centre half (I wonder if they exchanged numbers at the end of the game); the unusually prolonged and ironic cheers and applause when the ref finally did give a foul was funny.
The only real criticism I'd have is that we need to get a higher percentage of crosses into the danger area and not over hit them; we got into a number of good crossing positions and might have done better if the delivery was more considered. TBF, Borthwick-Jackson put in one or two good deliveries to buck this trend. For me though, despite the disappointing result, another performance that gives hope. Morris grows on me the more I see of him. The next few league fixtures will give us a better view of where we're at.
Anybody know what happened in the seated area after their second goal as a few Tranmere fans were getting animated and complaining about something that had happened from the seats above them.

To answer your question about the commotion after the second goal. There were a group in the Corporate hospitality box that started abusing Rovers supporters after the goal. Totally pathetic, particularly as they had a toddler with them who seemed to have more intelligence than the @#$%& above us. Insult was added to injury because a few minutes earlier their steward had tried to eject a Rovers supporter and became heavy handed and over-bearing. However, when the numbnuts in the private box kicked off they did nothing. This led to a group of us demanding that action be taken.

The box was cleared, eventually, but the incident was ridiculous and reaffirms my belief that people who use such facilities have sod all to do with real support. Most of the Fleetwood supporters who I chatted to before the game were decent and friendly, as were the staff in the social club which was very well run. Ruined an otherwise positive club experience, despite the result.

It was RHM not CBJ with the pass for the free kick[first goal].Their fans seemed to think it was their best defensive performance of the season and that the centre backs particularly Eastham [the number 5] were their best players. Well he was certainly their best all in wrestler because all he did throughout the 90 minutes was grapple, hold, tug and pull Ferrier without once being penalised[the kick we got where the ref got a standing ovation and smiled was against another defender] .
