A few facts about the club...

The first Chichester football club was formed in 1873.
They added the title 'City' to its name in 1948.
They were founder members of 'The Sussex County Football Association' in 1882.
They merged with 'Portfield' in 2000 to form Chichester City United, later renamed Chichester City.
They originally played at Priory Park before moving to their present ground Oaklands Park in the 1950's.
They have been Champions of The Sussex County League 5 times.
Their biggest ever victory came way back in 1945 when they beat Boxgrove Youth Club 21-1.
Their previous best achievement in the FA Cup was when they reached the first round proper in 1960, losing 11-0 to Bristol City.
They are nicknamed, The Lillywhites.
Their current manager is Miles Rutherford.
They play in the Isthmian South East Division and are currently about half way in the table ( interesting to note that they have yet to lose away from home in the league so far this season.)

Add a couple of hundred keyboard warrior Bury fans who're threatening on social media to turn up in the away end. Probably good desensitisation exercise being amongst the Chichester ranks, for the level they'll be playing at in the future (if there is to be one).

Noticed on their web site, over 70% of Chichester fans was Wycombe in the next round. Don’t understand this logic. We will have at least double their attendance and the away team get half the gate.

Wycombe think they are a bigger club than us, see they are posting thing like 3 years ago Tranmere were non league. Haven’t seen anything saying 19 years ago we were in a cup final. A few years before we were in the playoffs for the prem.

So we are now in the same league as Wycombe, with double the attendance and yet they feel they are a bigger club. Sorry wake up and smell the coffee.

Come on Chichester fans, surely you can see you have just as much a chance of beating us, as you did Wycombe. Win, lose or draw there is more money in it playing us than them. Bigger, better stadium and much better atmosphere.

Wycombe are a sound club and talking to their fans, very knowledgable and level headed, a pleasure to meet, but sorry not a bigger club.

I saw that Twitter poll. At the time it had almost 400 voters, which isn't bad for a club whose average attendance is less than 200! Presumably the extra 200 miles each way was a big factor.

Yes can only assume the 90 min journeys versus 4 1/2 hours to us was their thinking. Had to laugh at the wycombe forum where they are saying “if we cant beat Tranmere how are we going to survive in the Championship” i wouldnt worry Wycombe

Lol. ...nice one,,....maybe they should have said "“if we cant beat Tranmere (even when they only had 10 men for 80 minutes of a cup replay ) how are we going to survive in the Championship”.
As you have said Uptonrover, Wycombe shouldn't worry too much about that, still only a third of the way through the league season, and lots of things can happen before the end of this seasons campaign.

It wont be a walk over, they wanted to play us and bot Wycombe as we are the bigger club in their eyes due to our past league status. They will be well up for it and we tend not to fare well against lower league clubs. Think we will win it but wouldn’t be surprised at a tight score line.

However they might win 5-0. Past exploits are a barometer only and not conclusive proof of future outcomes.

Chichester played not too far from me today so I went to watch them. Unfortunately hardly any of the 1000 'fans' they're supposed to be bringing to PP bothered today!

They're in their first season at this level after being promoted last season. It's the same level as South Park were (and still are) when we played them.

From what I saw today they'll come to PP to play football. They look quite a young team with good energy levels and a couple of dangerous nippy lads playing off the main striker from wide. If they don't freeze next week I reckon they'll give a good account of themselves and will probably have their moments. Shaky under pressure at the back though and the keeper's not great on crosses.

I'll be astonished if we don't win comfortably but they might win quite a few admirers.

That’s the romance of the cup. Even if they did get a good seeing too I’d imagine and I’d be one that’ll give them an applause off the pitch as we did for Oxford City.
Coming this far is quite an achievement for them and I hope they enjoy it next Sunday but obviously not too much.

Oxford had a couple of nippy dangerous young lads up front who tore our defence to bits and left Buxton for one looking very embarrassed.

I see that lad that was at Oxford City ( forgotten his name ) when we played them is now doing quite well at Boreham Wood, he seems to have settled in quite well in the NL and he is scoring a few goals.

Tshimanga was the Oxford lad who got the hattrick against us and, as hkr says, is now doing well at Boreham Wood. Nombe I think was the other one who caused us problems, on loan from MK Dons.

Not sure the Chichester lads are at the same level but the two who caught the eye were Haitham and Rowlatt, playing just off the striker in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Haitham's the wide man and ex-Pompey, Rowlatt's more central. They each scored on Saturday.

The club had three cameramen videoing the game and anyone with a spare ten minutes can watch it here (Chichester in yellow): [chichestercityfc.co.uk]

Didn't we take Oxford City and South Park to our hearts? We wanted to win but not demolish them. Should be a good match?

And very few of those 55 were from Chichester lol!

I'll be happy with a comfortable win next week, with no scares. If we get that I'm not too bothered about the actual scoreline.

I'm hoping to have the whole family there on Sunday for the first and no doubt last time. My youngest is a gimme, and my eldest is on a freebie with his girlfriend and her work colleagues in the "hospitality suite" as he describes it and has only talked about the free 3 course meal! I've invited my wife, because I'm all heart, and just need to work on my middle son who's been to one away game when my eldest was ill and he took his place (that was against Bradford in the FA Cup at Valley Parade when the free coaches were put on; some sight that walking towards the ground seeing 13 coaches lined up. Great victory and thought he'd be hooked, but he's hard to please and has never wanted to attend a game again. He wasn't even emotionally stirred when he was sat next to his grandad on the coach and a brick bounced off the window right next to his grandads head when we were leaving "town". Anybody on the first coach in the convoy that day will remember that, with about half a dozen hooded youths hurling rocks at the coach). I have made it clear to my wife it's a one-off, just in case she actually enjoys it and gets any ideas.
Let's not forget Brigg Town in our previous FA Cup exploits against the "minnows". Looking forward to giving Chichester a proper PP welcome and any sort of victory will do and I hope there's no humiliation for either party!

Three nicely taken goals but, their opponents played with 10 men for a large part of the game and still managed to get back to 2-2 and almost snatched an equaliser at the death.

Not wishing to give us the kiss of death but, the Chichester goalie IMO was awful. They will obviously be up for the game on Sunday and I would expect a similar score to South Park.

MM needs to select his best available eleven and do the job quickly, no 90+ minute equaliser this time.

There is a massive gap between the two clubs and we really should win comfortably . Any league team can become the subject of a gaint killing but it is exceedingly rare for a division one side to lose at home to a team from so far down the pyramid.
If we cannot be confident about this result then when can we? If we were defeated it would be one of the worse results in our history
