Glad you made it Gary, I knew I spotted a snowflake! Cold enough for one anyway.. (Sm24) That performance warmed the cockles and the long walk back to the car after the game, up a bloody steep hill, finally warmed the extremities too.

Bored rover - Davies or Morris MOM for me though there were positives all over. If I was being unkind I'd say most of Scotty's saves were ones he'd have probably been criticised for if he'd missed them, though a couple were top draw, especially the one low to his right late on. He led by example, though he might be the only keeper to ever get booked for over-celebrating a goal!

Nice one, thanks.

Our disciplinary record is awful and whatever the rights and wrongs of this specific incident the overall record cannotbsimply be attributed to poor officials.
One shot on target and a defence that will always gift a goal reflects a recipe for failure.
What worries me is that in the we have only gained 3 more points than Bolton who have played less games and for for a long period fielded a youth team

Well, look at the table. There are worse teams than Tranmere who have been in league 1 a while now..

The reality is that this season was/is always going to be a struggle. I prefer that to us being in a league 2 playoff. At least the club can bed in.

Mind you, if you look at John King's actual record, social media would have been the same as this thread during a game. From Cr4p to

I will be happy if the team survives this season back.

Absolutely. Some folk seem to be adamant we're in some sort of deep-seated crisis when in reality, as you point out, we were never going to be a top-end side this year and that's due to coming so far in such a short space of time as well as being in the lower budget bracket for this league. There will be the odd further battering to come this season, it's unavoidable given our situation (and it happened to our better teams at this level, too). Despite that, we've certainly shown that we're more than capable of holding our own and I've not seen anything to suggest that the squad is cannon fodder and incapable of securing survival.

I am not disputing that .From the start of the season I have said that staying up would be as big an achievement as getting up.
My point was that too often we are gifting goals, often having looked tight for much of a game. If we could eliminate that, especially from set pieces our chances of survival would be considerably enhanced.

FA Cup prize money..

2nd round winners receive 54,000 quid
3rd round winners receive 135,000 quid
4th round winners receive 180,000 quid

then the prize money pretty much doubles each round all the way to the final.... and the chances of TV money too...

Regardless of what Wycombe supporters say, I bet Chichester are looking forward to coming to Rovers. The ground will add to their sense of occasion and when playing under dogs we have a good tradition of making teams welcome.

As a Tranmere supporter these are the ties I love. Not because it gives the prospect of a win but because we are contributing to a day that will, always be remembered for ever by all associated with the opposition.. That is why the FA cup is still unlike any other competition

+1 love the FA Cup, its so special...remembering that this weekend will be exactly 40 years ago to the day that we beat non league AP Leamington 9-0 in the first round...not 100% sure on this, but I think that AP Leamington game was Steve Mungalls first ever game in a Rovers shirt...

Probably you're right, especially as Scotty has a spotlight on him these days, sometimes I think harshly. Look at Morris' winning goal - if the same goal had been scored against us I'm sure there'd be people on here saying Scotty should have saved it. I didn't see anyone blaming Allsop on the Wycombe forum.

Yes they are a cocky bunch ,what you have to realise is this season is their 5 minutes of fame ,it’s one of the quirks of football every season a team for no apparent reason appears out the fog (Leicester ) and does really well ,it’s not apparent why ,it just happens ,they will drop down the League before long ,there not as good as they think they are ,their making hay whist the sun shines
