Well today's results take the pressure off a little. Couldn't have asked for a better set. Games in hand as well. Hard to predict what team will 'turn up' but fingers crossed for a good performance.

No idea how to call this one so, going on form, I'll guess at an away win, 1-3. But we'll do them on Wednesday.

I'm predicting another 2-2 draw which would be a good result.
It's inevitable they'll score a couple but I think we can grab a penalty and an own goal too.
I'm also predicting an altercation in the club car park between Phil65 and Akinfenwa when Wycombe depart the team bus. I'll give that plenty of space as not to be in harm's way !! Lol.

Oh dear,..another lack or two of concentration, but WW are a good team, and we are not really at that level yet. Hopefully the second half will give us a chance to tighten up that defence, although my 0-3/1-3 away win forecast is looking sadly close to the mark at the moment. Any more than 3 conceded today will be pretty bad.

Has anyone ever seen Caprice use his left foot at any time? He has one predictable move when he gets the ball wide: run down the sideline and either put in a desperate poor cross or lose possession.

In pure footballing terms we're okay. We pass and move well enough but tend to run out of ideas near the box when the game becomes compacted. Our players might well be more skillful than Wycombe's in truth. In all other aspects of the game they are miles ahead of us. They are stronger, quicker, better organised, have a game plan and carry the out. They have options up front within a simple structure. We dominated the second half because Wycombe eased off and played deep, but we didn't really look like ever scoring - crosses and corners were dealt with easily and everything else looked pretty enough 25+ yards out but never pulled them out of shape. Outside of the first few minutes one team looked in complete control of what they were doing and it wasn't Tranmere.

First time this season ive come away and thought we are in trouble. Wycombe, i will go on record and say, are not that good and WILL NOT get promoted. They have a game plan, stick to to it and it works well but i believe they will fizzle out. We look like we have no plan b other than hoof it up the field. Even my 7 year old spotted that if we keep kicking high balls at two tall centre backs, when we have no height upfront? Not rocket science is it?? When we get a free kick or corner down their end we mays well say “its ok iust have the ball back” cos we NEVER DO ANYTHING!!!

Just got back after a dust up with a small fella in the car park; he came off worse 😀.
You have to tip your hat to Tranmere and their support for charitable causes; we are the gift that keeps on giving. It was good to see that Akinfenwa's celebrity status led to having bestowed upon him the honour of "The Feedom of Prenton Park"; it was also good to see that we respected that new title with the first goal. Having said that, due to him being so small and inconspicuous, it is easy to see how he went unnoticed and unmarked for possibly the easiest header he'll ever score.
Ignoring my first paragraph (I'm sure most of you would like to!), another game that highlighted the fine margins between the top and lower half of the league. They played to their strengths, whilst we're still on the road to discovery with ours. Crosses and high balls in didn't work today as they won everything in the air, but we didn't adapt. We actually played some nice intricate stuff at times outside their box, but lacked penetration, or possibly didn't show enough confidence to continue to play our way through. I enjoyed Ferrier's endeavour when he came on, but he frequently had to come deep; we didn't play with an out and out striker today, but had plenty of ball players on the pitch. Take away the two goal incidents (I wish we could!) and there wasn't a great deal between the teams, so there are some positives to take from the obvious disappointment of the result. That might point to Wycombe not being outstanding or that we're able to compete on a more level playing field with the "better" teams; I'd like to opt for the second one, despite us still having some frailties and some room for improvement. It's natural to feel disappointment (I'd question your committment if you didn't), but it's certainly not doom and gloom and I'm still able to maintain some humour (sigh!). Let's just do Wycombe in the cup!

I thought Hepburn Murphy was fouled when our attack broke down prior to Wycombes counter attack which led to their goal which obviously could have been defended better .They were very good at blocking markets at corners tho .We didn't get rub of green with ref's decisions .For all our possession and good intent we could not find that final killer ball .Their keeper made a routine save right at the end with our best chance of the
match. Did not pick out who had the shot .

Wycombe deserved the win ,better organised work as a team ,but rovers played ok today apart from the 2goals they handed Wycombe the team that finished the game should start Tuesday in the cup ,not a bad second half ,but punchless up front ,Sorry to say rides and Jennings simply not good enough ,Sid Nelson played well ,considering how poor we are on set pieces we really do give free kicks away to often, it was a stonewall penalty you can’t moan at the penalty decision you can’t drag an opponent down and expect to get away with it ,watching on tv you get the best result / playbacks and it was blatant ,can’t see us doing any better in the cup game 😡

it seems after last week the Wycombe manager did his homework whereas I think micky crossed his fingers and hoped for the best, perkins to me shouldn,t have started as he looked unfit from the start, conor bless him is really out of his depth at this level, down to the bare bones in midfield yet Maddox still can,t get on, as for the defending seeing as we have an ex defender coaching we were a shambles

Keeper reported it to the ref and it's up to the ref if he puts it in his report. If he does, the EFL will have an issue to deal with. Given the publicity it's already getting, I'd expect that to be the case.

Sky said it was an incident when he took a goal kick. Don't know if it was just one idiot with one stupid comment or a few of them chanting.

Fair enough if the penalty was obvious, doesn't excuse the referee totally bottling a blatant foul on RHM being awarding prior to the Wycombe free kick.

Its also not the first offence our fans have been accused of committing of that nature in recent times, nor the second, it could well be a massive fine as opposed to a fine and their remains the option to have us play behind closed doors on top. We could well be made an example of.

We may have had more possession but did not really put them under pressure.
As for the so called bad decisions by the referee the penalty was obvious and mindless by Potter. There could well have been a free kick to us before the first goal but that does not deflect from the fact that our defence, not for the first time is awful at defending set pieces. The problem has been so long standing that it makes you wonder what goes on in terms of coaching.
I am sorry that Rides and Perkins were injured although both looked very poor today and it may mean that we benefit from rethinking our formation. If MaCullough is back to fitness he could be worth a short term contract for we lack a natural ball winner in midfield and Wilson could replace Rides at full back

To be fair to Akinfenwa for their first having looked back at it, he makes a tidy run off Manny and I doubt he could’ve done much more.
I read somewhere that they’re the joint or actual highest when it comes from scoring from set-pieces.

Big ask but we just need the lads to keep going at teams like we did, it will click and only takes one money to give us something to feed off for the remainder.

We weren’t that bad today, Wycombe are just very organised and take their opportunities.

We lack a strong defensive midfielder, who can break up play and just give it simple. We also lack a solid formation, there’s always a player playing out of position. Our central midfield is also extremely uncreative and lacks ideas.

The major positive the past few games has been Morris, he’s shown some real class and I think he can improve further just like Nors did under Mellon.
