Right back will be a key position tomorrow. Sean Newton their left back was by a mile the best player on the pitch last time we played them. He will need nullifying.

wrexham are finding goals hard to come by this season with the loss of 2 key players from last season. they have scored less than tranmere have, I think they've only scored 11 times so far this term. I saw them well beaten at Dagenham 3-0 and watched their rather tepid 0-0 draw vs chester the other week. even though we have injuries and suspensions I really hope we can heap the pressure on gary mills tmrw. looking forward to watching it live on bt sport. just hope rovers can score a goal or two. 3 times ive seen us on bt sport so far this season and only scored once in those 3 games. cmon micky and the rovers!

I'm not hopeful. I can't remember the last really good performance we put on for live TV cameras. Sure we've won a few, but mostly the arrival of cameras coincides with some of our worst performances. It's been this way for a long time though, probably going back to the glory years if in honest.

Edit - as I finish typing I remember the Norwich game. We were bottom, they were top. We won 3-0 with early goals. I was working and missed the game live and all the goals on TV. Bloody typical.

Players playing for their job, Micky stamping his authority, can see a few goals coming our way. Wasn't going to go, now can't wait. Big win. I don't have bt sport, is there anyway I can watch the whole game after on the tinternet? Any advise would be welcome. God I'm so excited. What a game to have the Mellon back for.

And no other (professional) football ANYWHERE tomorrow. Might get a few radio listening fans who would normally listen to E*****n or L*******l commentaries coming to Prenton Park before going home to watch the England match. I just want us to outnumber the visitors by a minimum of 2:1, oh, and the people in the kop to find the Tranmere songbook of old and ditch the dirge, "SuWhyArmy"!

More police at the game than there fans. Don't know what they expected but an over kill in the end. All away crowds at PP this season seem to be very low, and for a derby game it was very poor. Seemed to show some good football at times, not a big fan of Kirby and thought he look lost up front. Onward and upward under the Mellon now. Just need to extend tollitt's loan. Think we only have him for 28 days and he looks class. Got Nors back upfront with Cooke and happy days.

2nd half better than the 1st and we deserved the win. quite impressed with tollitt, he looked decent. poor wrexham team and plain to see that they have nobody in the striker department. great start for micky. will have to wait to see the 2nd goal on you tube or club website coz my stream went off for the final 5 mins and I couldn't recover the damn thing. switched on to wirral radio after the game and simon Haworth, andy robinson and andy mangan were all interviewed and all were full of praise for micky mellon and saying what a great manager we have got ourselves. mangan was really full of praise for him.

I thought Tollitt had a good game , from what I've seen up to now I'd keep him . Not afraid to take men on , quick and knows where the goal is . I thought he was one of 3 to stand out today . Him , Duggan and McNulty . Duggan has really seized his chance since coming in and McNulty won every ball today and was solid at the back . McNulty just edged MOTM for me today .

I can't disagree, but he's a better option than Mekki or Kirby for me. While he doesn't always do the right thing there is end product with him. Still in the promising and developing category as far as I'm concerned. No more.

Good, I'm glad he shoots, it's about time someone in this side took the initiative and had a shot, we've spent to much time this season trying to create unmissable chances instead of just having a dig. I'd personally never critisice anyone for shooting.

better tempo to the game today and looked less disjointed, i'm not a big fan of Kirby but thought he did well today through the middle. Tollit looks decent and as someone said isnt scared of having a shot which has been sadly lacking for months.

Felt Mickey certainly wasnt going to let them sit back, 110% expected all the time which i'm happy to see.

On to the next game but signs look good, big hug for Carden from Mickey at the end, matybe signs that he is staying?

Shooting from distance is good, if there isn't a better alternative and to put the defence on notice. It can become a problem if he does it all the time, it's easy to defend against if you know it's coming. You've got to be able to do both - a shot early on to let them know you can do it and a ball slid into a forward next time. It opens things up for everyone. We've been too one-dimensional and slow in our attacking, but giving him carte blanche to shoot from distance will just make us a different kind of one dimensional. The one he sailed miles over shortly before was a bad choice - he was running across the defence and had to cut across the ball. One in a million to score with that and made worse because there was an easy ball into a forward available instead.

Your not wrong but he was fantastic, ran at people from deep, used pace and caused mayhem, as I say as long as he's actually shooting I'm not that bothered, close one for MoM between him and Duggan for me. Thought Mellon spoke to the side more than Brabin did in 90 matches during the 90 minutes.

Considering we have Jones on loan till January who is useless only having tolitt for 28 days is madness Reminds me of Dawson last season chalk player likes to take people on and carry the ball. I'd try and extend his loan. Jenno and mcnulty were rocks today Kirby tried but he was in essence replacing Norwood and we can't expect Kirby to do what Norwood does, be good to see mickys stamp over the next few weeks! SWA!

Sorry might upset some and might be nit-picking but booking a Tranmere player (sorry can't remember who it was) for kicking the ball just as he blew his whistle for a free kick (clearly no time to stop this action); previously a Wrexham player had kicked the ball away well after the whistle but no booking. Not booking their centre forward for an elbow to the face which even the ref gave a free kick for and clearly indicated was an elbow. Overruling the linesman when the linesman's decision was correct, not giving the penalty when Stephenson was pulled down, lots of shirt pulling missed. I think it was deceiving as he looked the part (young and athletic, not fat, balding and past it) and tried to convey an air of authority and control in what turned out an easy game to referee anyway (no where near as competitive as I expected). I guess it shows how awful the standard is if he passes as a good referee or our expectations are low. God forbid that would have been a Tranmere player making comparable errors; he'd have been crucified. In conclusion, I guess he wasn't as dire as some we have seen so easy to see how his performance may have received credit from some.

I thought the Harris booking was justified tbh. It seemed to me that the ref blew a long time before the ball was kicked, or at least in plenty of time for it not to be hoofed into touch. I was a long way from convinced about the penalty shouts as well.

Thought the pigeon played a blinder, personally

I dunno Paz, he just stood in space and waited for the ball to be played into feet. No movement, no work rate. No creativity going forward and no effort in defence - he didn't even try to tackle or break a pass up. Tbh I found it difficult to tell if he was playing for us or them!grinning smiley

Were you watching a different pigeon?

He shifted from the left wing right across to the right, completely lost his man. Poor vision from our lads not to pick him out.

Hope he gets another chance!grinning smiley

Must have missed that. I got distracted by someone in a melon hat...

Personally I think it would have been a bit of a coop if we'd signed him. Nice to see something naturally coming wide; sadly he didn't fly down the wing as I would have liked to have seed him do. Also typical that he didn't receive the ball when out wide; had me perched on the edge of my seat in anticipation though. Apologies!!

The pigeon thought he might get a game. A flight of fancy you could say.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.
