Partey starts on bench.

Lacazette Bench.
And a start for Pepe to have a run at them.

Big call to play Saka ahead of Maitland-Niles. It's a more attacking approach with him in the team.

LOL I knew aguero and sterling would be fine. Typical our luck. That’s a really strong City team. I’m actually surprised by how attacking our team is, especially without Partey in midf.

Aubameyang must be middle ?

Yes.
Arteta doesn't normally go out like this against big teams.
Hope we don't get caught out.

DID YOU KNOW?

Manchester City are unbeaten in their last nine Premier League meetings with Arsenal (W7 D2), since a 2-1 loss in December 2015. They've scored at least twice in all nine of these games.

City defence is poor. For some reason am confidant. 3-1 to us.

We have to get at there defence.
Walker is quick but liable to bring you down.

Disapointed that Sterling and Aguero made the squad but i wont change my prediction. We can win it.

Re: Team news and City match thread.
CazOnARola 17 October, 2020 16:24
Its gonna be a quick start.. The team that gets it right cab easily to 2-0 up.

Will be very surprised if there aren't 3 goals in the first half.

Expecting us to go 2-0 up with aguero snatching 1 back by tripping up luiz and we can go in 2-1 up.

Holding is injured in the warm up.

Weak defensive midfield. Xhaka will be overrun by Citeh midfield. Quite an attacking setup by Arteta. Brave but is it foolish? Will Pepe show up?

Of partey was not going to start, which is logical, its a little tough to understand no elneny over xhaka.

Re: Team news and City match thread.

Too much tinkering so no rhythm with this formation.

Arteta doesn't trust Aubameyang to hold the ball at all, and doesn't seem to trust Willian defensively.

Re: Team news and City match thread.

Was happy

And Sterling goes and scores.

Leno pushes it back into dangerous area.

Poor goalkeeping but very poor from Bellerin. Toothless attack, nothing new to see here! How do Leeds at home and Leicester look better away at City offensively than we do?

Saka has been our best player. Brilliant talent we've got on our hands.

Re: Team news and City match thread.
CazOnARola 17 October, 2020 17:24
Midfield is almost Non existent.. No protection on front of the defense from xhaka and Ceballos and no energy to win the ball back in those areas even inside our half, let alone budget up the pitch.

Willian should have played left where he has more freedom and auba through the center, but that's probably cause Arteta doesn't trust Willian defensively after the last two games, and so doesn't want to play him wide.

We will have subs to change things.

Re: Team news and City match thread.
Flava 17 October, 2020 17:29
We’re had some great moments in that first half. More than we usually do.

I agree with Caz about the midfield and about Willian but I also agree with BG, it’s not just him and playing him out of position through the middle hasn’t worked.

Saka has been fantastic.

Yes the players are not comfortable playing this formation.

Move willian left - center, move Aubameyang through the middle.

Re: Team news and City match thread.

It was too far out for anyone else and too close for putting it in. Luiz has scored a few times in his career from such range.

Anyway the team was pretty poor. Nobody new what they were doing in the end.

Arteta took all the players off who can hold the ball or play a pass in the last 7 min keeping auba, Lacazette and Nketiah on.

Very poor performance, one of the worst under Arteta.

City were playing in 3rd gear.

Saka and Luiz both presented some difficult chances to Auba but I think if he was in top form he'd have at least got a shot on target from one of them. Only saw the last 25 but I thought we did OK. Saka needs to start every big match regardless of which position! Gabriel could become the best centre back in the league.

Re: Team news and City match thread.

Gabriel is a little weak when judging the flight of the ball. And also at cutting out crosses at the near post, something both koshielny and luiz are very good at and mustafi aa well. If the wingback/full back is beat, the cross will invariably flash across the box as Gabriel hasnt so far shown to me that he can cut it out.

Physically he is elite, but defensively he still has a lot to improve, but he is just 22.

You need a more active , snappy CB along side him right now, but considering he will always be the last man due to his pace, he needs to work on cutting ground crosses like luiz does.

I'm hoping judging the flight for a high percentage of high balls and crosses will come with more games in the EPL.
