Elneny is better than guendouzi at consistency in ball retention, defensive positioning (did well at center back a couple of times) and maybe shooting (great technique for his goal at nou camp).

Where he lacks its the engine and the ability to hold off players in a physical challenge and leadership qualities.

The above 3 qualities is why guendouzi gets so much limelight, but when it comes to football tactics and consistency, he is a lot worse and makes too many mistakes.

We are battery or caching in and getting a first team CM like Partey as has been suggested. Elneny cab be the back up player.
