Not convinced Martinelli enjoys playing with Aubameyang & Lacazette.

Not sure anyone on the team enjoys playing with Lacazette in his current form. He has not been the same since his last injury and he appears to have lost a step.

Its not about the form of Lacazette.. The first chance that Aubameyang missed, look at Martinelli towards the far post. If Aubameyang squares the ball, it's almost an open goal for Martinelli. Look at the positioning of ozil when Aubameyang crossed the ball in the air for that needed chance of Lacazette.
Lastly when Lacazette crosses the ball for the headed chance of Aubameyang, look at where willock is in relation on the far post. The ball to willock is not even a reverse ball, it would be in the one of sight if Lacazette was actually "looking" for targets.

I have been saying this for months and don't have the time of the video editing skills to give you guys evidence. I can also give you several chances on the counter attack last night ended if Aubameyang passes the ball to ozil instead of dawdling along on the wing, the switch of play would have found Martinelli one v one.

Merl you wanted evidence for the Lacazette /Aubameyang cartel?

Just watch the first chance that Aubameyang missed and Martinelli at the far post and u don't need to comb through the other things i said.

Lacazette and Aubameyang only look for each other on the final ball or shoot themselves in case the other guy is not in position.

Break the cartel sell one of them.. Willock s pot shot on the counter, expect him to pass if Saka was on the overlap in the left or Nelson was one v one with the LB on the right wing. It's a disease that's spreading even though nobody has said anything about it yet.

When I think of teams that play with a front 3 all out attacking option there is only Liverpool that I can think of who successfully do/did it without a real creative force in midfield.

Take the great Barcelona team for example. They would not have been the same without amnestying Inniesta in there making it work for them or a Xavi creating space.

They also had Messi who would come deep and run at players taking them away from their targets.

We desperately need someone doing that, and we just don't have anyone even close. Arteta is trying to get it out of Ozil, but it's years of laziness and managerial neglect that's meaning he'll never fire on all cylinders again.

I also desperately miss the running and directness of Alexis Sanchez.

Laca is the cancer in that Frontline. How can we persist playing a striker that has gone a whole year without scoring in our away games. Simply unacceptable.

Wenger Is Gone Now So Can We Be Allowed To Breathe Now???

Younghan, all good points, but you need to acknowledge that midfielders will not always directly get assists. Their job is to "open" up defenses. It is not possible for the midfielders to always get the final "assist". E. G the throughball to the fullback and he squares the ball to someone in the center or one of the wingers, they do the same to square or cut back to a midfielders.

Our two forwards just look for one single person in the box when they are looking to pay the final ball ignoring others in much battery positions.

We need a much better midfield to make us flat track bullys again, but we need the cancerous selfishness to go from this team to go any higher than 5/6.
