Match against Sheffield United - Arteta said he will drop Ozil once his work-rate dropped

Sheffield United?
A well-drilled side, better than Palace, and will instantly packed the box with 2 banks of 5 and 3 when the balls are lost.
And with 2 players roaming at half-way line ready for Route 101 Football hoofed out of the box.

The Blades are extremely hard to break-down and are potent during counter-attacks with shots at goal.

Against Palace, we were back to the old habit of Crab Football, passing the balls too slow with no channels spotted. Worse, Hodgson was smart enough to instruct his players to press instantly to deny Arsenal time and space to pass the ball.

Ozil is useless when Palace pressed him instantly and never left him alone. It was left to Xhaka and Luiz to create plays with their long passes. Unfortunately, both Laca and Pepe were useless in closed ball control and were not given space and time to execute their plays. As usual, 2 or 3 Palace players were instantly pressed them and invariably, they lost out.

The Blades will be performing the press very much better than Palace and the Bank of 5 & 3 are extremely difficult to penetrate without flair players that can stretch them. Forget about Ozil creating plays, he will be instantly pressed and will be shaken off the ball. Once the ball is lost, Ozil is a liability, leaving a whole in the midfield which Sheffield players and Wilder will know how to exploit.

Let's hope Torreira is fit and he can shake off his muscular injury, suspect due to Pepe took him and he landed heavily on his back. This is the game we really need Torreira to break and stop the Blades counter-attacking plays.

I will play Ceballos in place of Ozil as he is more dynamic, and has an engine to harass opponent once the ball is lost. Plus, other than Ozil, he is a creative playmaker in the final third.

Ozil can't maintain his work-rate after 4 exhausting games. Time to drop him for this 6th game of his.

Time for Ceballos to earn his dough.

….. ….. ….. ….. ….. ….. Leno

… AMN ….. Sokratis ….. ..... Luiz ….. Kolasinac

….. ..... Torreira ….. ….. ….. ….. Xhaka

… Pepe ….. ….. ….. Ceballos ….. ….. Martinelli

….. ….. ….. ….. ….. Lacazette

The consolation is that Arteta has a settled side which can only get better and better with better communication between a settled Back-4 and Midfield.

But a new problem has arisen with Leno.
He seemed tentative and uncertain as to whether to leave the line to attack those lobs and gather them or stay on his line.
On 2 or 3 occasions, he was hesitant, took one or two steps and them promptly returned to his line.

He hasn't left his line in 3 years apart from his excursion into space against Chelsea. He leaves the defence to deal with everything which is why it has been like pinball in our box for so long. If he caught a few crosses (like Martinez) we might be in a position to launch some quick counter attacks from throw outs.

True, he is a bit of a back-foot goalie isn't he? May be one reason why he's faced so many shots. Martinez isn't reliable enough though. I don't think there are may top-quality keepers around like there used to be so Leno is good enough, just another weakness that we need to compensate for.
