Bayern Munich have parted ways with head coach Niko Kovac after 16 months in charge.

He leaves the club just one day after they were thrashed 5-1 at his former club Frankfurt.

They are currently fourth in the Bundesliga, four points behind leaders Borussia Monchengladbach after 10 games.

Announcing the decision, CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: "The performance of our team in recent weeks and the results have shown us that there was need for action.

No messing around like us.

They don't mess around there. I wonder if they go for Mourinho or someone else now.

They should go for Emery. (Sm100), and quickly, like this exact second. And no messing around Karl. Announce it by tomorrow!

Could be an opening for Arsene Wenger.

Oh no!
If we return to CL Cup and faces Wenger Bayern Munich, we can't handle the pacy attacks down the flank and through pass in the middle.

On the hand, after a few games of leisurely-played Crab Football, I am sure Wenger will be shown the door in no time! grinning smiley

If Wenger jumps ship to Bayern I fully expect to batter them 10-2 on aggregate next time.

Although we do have Emery now mind, so maybe it will be 6-6.

Wenger would do very well anywhere that he doesn't have final say on transfer matters I'd imagine, which he wouldn't at Bayern. Thing is, he'd demand that I think, full control over signings, and it'd be a dealbreaker. That's probably why he hasn't picked up a job since leaving Arsenal. I've no doubt he's been approached but they probably tell him to f*ck off when he requests copies of the company accounts in every interview.

Bayern says 'no' to Wenger who wanted a longer term arrangement.
