Those players are in the past, gone and we move alone to develop our youngsters.

#1 - Nketiah - a bit of hit-and-miss, perhaps like Jeffers, Adelaide, Jay Simpson, Vela, et al and time for him to move on. I do not rate him.

#2 - Nelson - didn't see much in him. Just an over-hyped David Bentley, cannot hold a candle to Jose Reyes and time for him to move on. I do not rate him with Saka and Martinelli developing more rapidly than him.

#3 - Martinelli - this boy is class, but hold on. He has yet to reach Jose Reyes level, and of course, the benchmark is how good he will be compared to Roberto Pires. As a left-winger cum striker, the gold standard is of course Thierry Henry. His first milestone is that by summer 2020, will he be as good as Jose Reyes?

#4 - Willock - He has potential and that is all. He has an engine but will he be as good as Ramsey as a box-to-box midfielder and will contribute 5 to 10+ goals per season? Starting with scoring a least 5 goals this season? His tackling and pace is way better than Ramsey and he needs to improve on his reading of game, anticipation and tactical awareness to switch plays as good as Xhaka. His gold standard is Xabi Alonso.

#5 - Saka - the best of the bunch of youngsters breaking into 1st team. He has everything in his locker except experience, tactical awareness and the telepathic passing skills of Pires. He has an engine, willing to put his foot in, but sometimes, like the Aston Villa game, he is clueless and just does not possess that tactical awareness yet to take the game by the scuff of its neck and imposes himself at left flank. Vast potential and can only improve with more playing minutes and astute coaching.

#6 - Smith-Rowe - was impressed by him last season, driving like a No. 10 into the centre and scoring. But this season, hardly saw him at all and the few minutes he played … well, like a raw and callow youngster. Worryingly, look more and more like Jack Wilshere Mark 2.0. A sicknote, vast potential as a youngster but failed to fulfil them when promoted into 1st team. Open verdict and needed to seize this season to fulfil his potential.

#7 - Balogun? - read a lots about him. But if he is that good, then it is bye-bye to Nketiah. Nketiah may be a hotshot at Championship level - like Jay Simpson and Anthony Stokes - but he may not cut it at Premiership level.

#8 - Azeez? Dunno … perhaps like Zelalem or Merida or Wilshere. World-class at youth-level but mediocre at senior level.

That people, are our future Arsenal team in 5 years time.
If Emery is still with us in 5 years time, perhaps he can forge this bunch of youngsters into another Seville-like cup winning team but never title-winning.

It was all a mirage, snake-oil that Arsene Wenger so superb peddled to Arsenal fans for more than a decade after 2003/04 season.
They are all gone; dead as a dodo.

Martinelli needs more game time.

Yep that's the only way he will play with his head up a little more. The commitment, work ethic and the flair is there. Just needs experience at the highest level. He should be the long term replacement of Lacazette. He's fearless with his back to goal with defenders behind him unlike Aubameyang
