Elneny joins Besiktas on loan

Glad to be getting rid of deadwood, shame its only a loan deal. How long is this guys contract?

Looks like Mustafi will be hard to shift as we paid 35m for him, so a loan deal at best

If you ever wanted evidence as to why stats alone are not enough, this guy is it.

January 2016 we were short in midfield but weren't going to make a big signing as we were already going to sign Xhaka in the summer. We were without Ramsey, our main source of "legs", and Arteta and Cazorla, our main sources of passes. StatDNA threw up Elneny, who ran a lot and passed a lot. Turns out that was all he could do.

Nothing player who has never even looked close to becoming a first choice here, and stayed here at least two years longer than he should've been. Showed just how ambitious he is when he turned opportunities to leave. Just glad he was fairly cheap...

Let's hope Xhaka goes on loan to Basel in January 2020.
If, and only if, Willock and Guendouzi developed fully by December and put Xhaka 3rd in the pecking order or 4th if Torreira is included in the list.

We have Luiz and cannot afford to have two "Luiz" plying in the same team simultaneously.
