A weak starting 11, but a bit of strength on the bench if they're up to it.

Flava 11 August, 2019 12:05
HUGE opportunity for Reiss Nelson today.

Re: Team news and Newcastle match thread.
Boston Gooner 11 August, 2019 12:07
Bench looks stronger than the team. lol
Big season for Maitland-Niles . (he has to do better)

So we start another season without any actual new signings starting and probably a weaker starting eleven than we had last season.

Ugh.
Five starters on the bench.
Two (or three) other starters out injured.
On the road.

I guess that we will find out straight away what kind of depth this year’s squad is carrying?

Come on, you Gunners!

[sup][/sup]We need to learn to take throw-ins, we lost a good attacking position then from throwing the ball to a Toon player. We did that a lot last season too.

Not bad for our second string.

Amn, Chambers, monreal in defence.
Willock, Nelson, mkhi and one of Xhaka and guendouzi in midfield
All to be replaced.

C'mon, that was a make shift team with teenagers in Nelson, WIllock and Martinelli having their first start.

Pepe looked bewildered at the speed of the game.
Ceballos is not better than Mkhitaryan.

However, Mkhi shifted into another game during 2nd half with Ceballos coming in.
Guendouzi is MOTM with him breaking up plays and harassing Newcastle players.

Re: Team news and Newcastle match thread.
Merlion96 11 August, 2019 15:04
Our much maligned defence.
They did well with Chambers keeping it simply and just cleared the balls instead of tippy tappy football in our box when under pressure.
