First friendly vs. Colorado Rapids

Kicked off our pre-season campaign at 2am UK time. We lined up:

-------------------Macey

Jenkinson - Chambers - Medley - Thompson

------------Olayinka - Burton

-----------------John-Jules

-----Martinelli - Nketiah - Saka

Subs:

Leno, Sokratis, Mkhitaryan, Lacazette, Ozil. Aubameyang, Maitland-Niles, Monreal, Mustafi, Nelson, Martinez, Willock, Kolasinac, Xhaka.

Took the lead when Saka was played in by Nketiah before dinking the keeper. Made it 2-0 shortly after when Olayinka won the ball in midfield and curled one into the top corner from 25 yards. Sealed the win in the second half when Martinelli chested Thompson's cross into the net.

Didn't fancy staying up till 2am myself but apparently Saka and Martinelli were very good.

Not worth staying up that late to watch reserves

- until Wenger moves on, they'll always be the also-rans in the major competitions. A club in elite purgatory. Always good enough to make it to the big race, never fast or smart enough to push over the finish line in first place. That's all about the manager. Until he changes, Arsenal fans will continue to celebrate glorious failure.
