Player Ratings vs. Valencia

Cech - 5. Slow. Genuine legend of the game but we can't start him in the final.

Sokratis - 6. Tough game up against Gameiro.
Koscielny - 6. Okay.
Monreal - 6. Okay but Rodrigo got between him and Kolasinac for Valencia's second.

Maitland-Niles - 5. Mixed performance. Struggled defensively at times but set up Aubameyang's second superbly.
Torreira - 6. Okay. Battled.
Xhaka - 4. Slow. Poor in possession.
Kolasinac - 5. Not great. Lost Rodrigo for Valencia's second.

Ozil - 7. Quality on the ball. Made a scene when he got subbed off.

Aubameyang - 10. Scored a hat trick (third was a superb finish), worked hard and caused trouble for the Valencia defence.
Lacazette - 8. Set up the first and took his goal very well. Doesn't stop running.

Subs:

Mkhitaryan - 5. Didn't do a great deal.
Mustafi - 5. We gave Valencia a chance to get back into the tie and they didn't take it.
Guendouzi - N/A. Not on long.

After a week of exciting European comebacks, combined with our poor form away from home, you felt that this tie just might not be over. Valencia attacked but fortunately we have two in-form and efficient strikers. We're in the final!

Aubameyang's all-round game has been better recently. He wants Champions League football. Meanwhile Xhaka, who has genuinely looked better for the majority of this season, has been horrible recently.

Best striking performance since Henry and Bergkamp. Absolutely sensational leadership from them both

Totally agree about the keepers, we have to start Leno

Its like they've both realised that we aren't good enough in every other position so we're really relying on them.

On the other hand, thy turned up to play in big games only.

If only they turned up against Everton, Wolves, Leicester City, Crystal Palace and Brighton.

Torreira was jogging back like Denilson used to for their goal.

P*ss poor

Torreira gave a very good assist

- until Wenger moves on, they'll always be the also-rans in the major competitions. A club in elite purgatory. Always good enough to make it to the big race, never fast or smart enough to push over the finish line in first place. That's all about the manager. Until he changes, Arsenal fans will continue to celebrate glorious failure.

I keep reflecting on how good Aubameyang was. Honestly haven't seen a striker dominate every blade of grass like that since Henry.

Boy have we missed that kind of fight. What a performance that was. Deserves every penny of his money this week.

Still can understand how or why we bottled against Everton, Leicester, Crystal Palace and Brighton?? Makes no sense.
Xhaka for heavens sake will be the death of us.
That our defense is still woeful.
Didn't want us playing Chelsea but Chelsea it is.

With Spurs of all clubs in the final of the CL, we are in the Endgame now. #WhateverItTakes, We must beat Chelsea. It's none negotiable. WE MUST WIN THE EUROPA CUP or We are BURST!!
Nothing else will ever make sense especially if our noisy neighbour wins the CL.

Wenger Is Gone Now So Can We Be Allowed To Breathe Now???

I agree, without CL football, next season will be no better than this one.
