Toilet in lesson times

Hi, I am a primary school teacher (year 5). I do not let children go to the toilet during class time. Would you complain as a parent?

Well, Miss Pike, what an interesting question.

You may have deduced from the threads on this forum that it is not exactly a hub of activity these days.

It used to be quite the place to be, but I am not sure you will get a great many answers to this most off topic of questions.

Anyway, as the father of two children who no longer attend primary school, but once did, I suppose it depends on their exact age. If they are at the younger end, say 4-7, then yes I would. If they were more like 10-11 then its perhaps a bit more reasonable to expect them to plan their toilet visits for breaks and such like, so I would be more inclined to agree with your approach.

I hope my answer is of interest, and as one of the moderators of the forum, not that there has been a great deal to moderate for several years, we welcome more of your threads should you wish to post them.

Of course I would complain.

You for real Miss Pike.
Seems a bit fishy.
