Just watched some video of the Bush fires in Australia, pretty frightening stuff, the driest year in the last fifty. Really makes you wonder what lies ahead if climate change is getting worse.

Hi BON.
Ask most Australians and they have a negative image of Wollongong. Historically it is a steel town. The steel works still operates but really has very little impact on the area.
The largest employer these days is the University. I would say it is probably ranked in the top half dozen in Aus.
We are one hour twenty minutes to Sydney cbd on the train.
There are numerous beautiful beaches. The escarpment is one to two kms from the ocean so the town is very elongated. This gives it the feel of a series of villages linked together.
There are many good restaurants and caf├ęs.
For Me at 62 it is a wonderful place to live.
