Match Thread: FA Cup Quarter Final: Wolves vs Man Utd
Raul vs Paul
By Wolves
March 16 2019
Wolves host possibly the biggest gane of their season so far this evening when Manchester United come to town for the Quarter Final of the 2019 FA Cup
Nuno Espito Santo will be expecting a huge test from in-form United led by their temporary' coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Perhaps the fact that Wolves have a fully fit and available squad, whereas United have several players unavailable due to injury or suspension may swing the outcome in favour of Wolves, but it is always going to be a tough match to win.
Ryan Bennett will be available for selction as his suspension is a Premier League rather than an FA issue, whilst Nuno has already indicated that John Ruddy will start in goal. Ashley Young is suspended for United, whilst Romelu Lukaku may be unfit due to a foot injury. Mata, Sanchez, Valecia and Darmian are all sidelined due to injury.
Coincidentally both Ivybridge Wolf and I will be out this evening celebrating our respective sons 30th birthdays, which is a bit of a blow, but something that has to be done!!
Our fellow guests will be requested to maintain 'radio silence' by switching phones off so that we can watch the game on arrival home. My son is a Manc so will also be keen to see it!!
So... neither of us will be able to offer an commentary on tonight's game - or even the line-up - but we hope fellow board members will try to keep those without access up to speed on here.
Its on BBC 1 so if someone hasnt access to that but can get online, it'd be quite unusual. I will be watching it on my illegal stream again as I havent paid my tv license
Biggest game since that one off game at the end of the 10/11 season to keep us in the prem when it was between us and Birmingham to get relegated.

BBC America shows nothing but Doctor Who reruns and zero sport. Also the one channel that does have the FA Cup, BEIN, has an unresolved wrangle with my cable provider, so watching on the web too. Come on Wolves.

Im watching it on BBC, I meant its technically an illegal stream with no license. Good first half performance with the only real chance for Jota who fluffed his lines
0-0. We had some good chances from Jota, and doesn't it make you proud to see these quality players in the old gold shirts? PSG, Barcelona? Nothing; we are WOLVES
very proud of the lads, an incredible performance particularly second half when we were toying with United.. the only stress now will be tickets for the semi and maybe final. It looks like the black market...
Brilliant. Every one of them a hero. VAR cocked up the red card. If anyone thinks he didn't take Jota out before getting the ball, you're blind. It's churlish to complain about that though I suppose.
Fantastic goal from Jota, Jiminez was brilliant and, for me, Moutinho was MOM but everyone did their job. The best team won.
Thanks Nuno and thanks Fosun.
It made such a refreshing change playing on a mainstream tv channel of prime time viewing instead of messing around with delayed streams etc... how football should be till sky killed it.
Radio silence was a complete success, more easily done in a pub in a remote part of the South Hams, South Devon! No signals, good family birthday meal - even if there were 4 Wolves fans there looking at our watches!
Not long finished watching ..... What a performance, especially second half. Magnificent.
How good are this team? Wonderful!
UTW!
Really pleased with the way we played and once again showed nob fear of a 'big' team. Also pleased to see how the thread was kept going by you all.
I sat and watched it with my son - who is a Manc - when we returned from his birthday celebrations and I was amazed and blown away by how good we were, whereas he recognised how much we deserved it and felt Ole got his tactics totally wrong.
Let's hope we can avoid City in the semis at least
