Wolves will now need to look at who should remain in their squad for the Premier League

It's a requirement of Sportnetwork that we publish an item every two weeks, even during the close season, so this seems a relevant point to raise at this point. Please air your views to make my efforts worthwhile!!

After a Championship winning season and promotion to the Premiership, Wolves will now have to decide who should remain in their squad, which players  loans should be made permanent deals, and who should leave.

The current permanent squad:

Keepers:

Ikeme, Ruddy, Norris

Defenders:

Doherty, Batth, Coady, Hause, Douglas, Bennett, Miranda, Ofosu-Ayeh,

Midfielders:

Saiss, Neves, Gibbs-White

Strikers:

Costa, Cavaleiro, Enobakhare, Bonatini, Mir, Mason

On Loan:

Boly, Vinagre, N'Daiye, Afobe, Jota (subject to deal in place)

Out On Loan

Iorfa Ebanks-Landell, Deslandes, (Jordan) Graham, Oniangue, Ronan, Marshall, Gladon, Zyro Wilson

A difficult time for the manager who will have to consider outgoings as well as new signings. I am not aware of many of our squad players being chased by other clubs at this stage and he will have to maintain a balanced squad.
Quality of new signings will have to be significant to consider allowing others to leave and it will also depend on the positions
he deems most in need of new recruitment.
Those players out on loan would be the main casualties with the exception of ROnan and Wilson.

Goalies...keep Ruddy and Norris, add a quality keeper like Butland.

Defenders..Keep Doherty,Coady,Douglas,Bennett,Hause...sign Boly on permanent deal.

Midfield...Keep Saiss,Neves,MGW,Vinagre

Attackers..Keep Costa,Cav,..sign Jota permanent deal.

That is fifteen names in the squad.Jota deal is foregone conclusion.Let´s ALL hope that Boly is tied up as well.

The two guys standing out from the non existants is Afobe and Bright.I wouldn´t mind if Benik get´s a deal...however I have given up regarding Bright.

Above everything else we need a couple of quality midfielders IMHO..especially one´s that will do the work like Doherty and Douglas has done for us previous season. We need upgrading and cover here.

Furthermore..I have nothing against the 2003 version of Oakes, just that he wasn´t good enough.Neither is Ruddy or Norris.
Ikeme didn´t fit the bill to begin with.We do need the best quality goalie we can get our hands of this silly season.

I would like to upgrade Saiss..good enough for Championship, but to give Ruben the freedom in Prem..we do need the best our money can get besides him.

Attack is fine, however if one is supposed to dream I would like quality upgrade here as well.A plus Blake variant would be nice, the good holding play player. We will need it Greed Leauges I recon.

Strong rumours about today that goalkeeper Rui Patricio will be signing for Wolves. Apparently he handed in his notice at Sporting Lisbon and has opted to join us. He's not a player I have seen playing but is seemingly highly recommended as Portugal's No.1 and will be playing in Russia.

How true this is I don't know, but it will certainly throw some doubt on John Ruddy being at the club next season if correct.

Well the club have already announced that Raul Jimenez will be joining on loan, and now it is confirmed that Goalkeeper Rui Patricio has been signed on a four year contract.

Harry Burgoyne has gone to Plymouth Argyle on loan, but this will also surely raise a question over the future of John Ruddy - unless of course someone comes in for Will Norris!!

They said on the box during the Senegal match yesterday that we were not extending N’Daiye’s loan.

I'm not too surprised. Fair play to him, by and large he did well when used last season but looking at some of the players we're being linked with it's no shock if he's not kept on.
