Chris Powell has signed a deal with West Ham United Football Club, one that will see him plying his trade eastside, initially until the end of the season. The former England international has spent three months on loan from Charlton at Upton Park but rejected the Hammers initial offer of a permanent deal last week. Now though the veteran left back has agreed terms and West Ham manager Alan Pardew said “Chris is a massive addition for us.”
Also, Pardew, was quick to dispel the rumours currently circulating about ‘Marvelous’ Marlon Harewood’s tenure at the club, Norwich City, Southampton and Crystal Palace are all keen to sign the Hammers hit man, who, although he has only scored ten goals this season, is seen as an integral part of his manager’s plans .An ideal front man when he was at Notts Forest before, all the previously mentioned clubs, with West Brom apparently joining the fray as well, would be prepared to offer substantial sums when the January transfer window opens. Any offer less than £2,500,000 would be turned down as Hammers go for their last push for promotion before their parachute payment runs out!
