Odemwinge deal close
By Jemma Tappenden
July 13 2011
West Bromwich Albion striker Peter Odemwinge today insisted that he was close to striking a new deal with the West Midlands club, despite hitting a snag over his wages.  Speaking from the USA, where the club are under way with pre season preparations, Odemwinge stated he believed he was close to signing a one or two year contract extension.

Despite being the centre of transfer speculation, the 29 year old striker revealed that he fully expects to be at the Hawthorns next season, but admited he could be tempted by an offer from a bigger club should a deal that suited both him and the club arrive on the table.

But gaffer Roy Hodgson is confident of securing the services of Odemwinge at West Brom, who already has two years of his exisitng contract left to run.

The club are expected to make some change to the wage of Odemwinge, in return for his efforts and successes last season.  But a figure that suits both player and club is yet to be agreed.

Re: Odemwinge deal close
I think he willre-sign and it was really never likely that he would leave. He loves it at the Albion and is adored by the fans. We need to find another striker as we will lose Osaze for the Africa Nations cup along with Mulumbu.

9 to 12 points would be great at the end of Sep.
