Nomads stun title contenders
Gap Connah's Quay 1 - 0 The New Saints
The full-time English outfit, The New Saints of Oswestry Town were victims of a relegation struggler's shock win with Gap Connah's Quay take the three points at home on Friday night. Mike Hayes for Connah's Quay took a 69th minute lead and that goal alone proved to be enough to seal victory for one of the WPL's struggling teams. The first half lacked effort from Gap Connah with only one decent shot on target, that shot came from Stuart Scheuber from 20 yards but the effort went over the woodwork. Chris Sharp, TNS' new signing came on with 20 minutes left but his presence and debut did not affect the overall result, with Gap Connah's Quay taking a shock three points. Attendance: 253.
