Not a league game obviously but need to keep the momentum going. Maybe a tweak or two but let's keep the team gelling and going in the right direction.

A win for me. They're @#$%&

I would rather not have the distraction of more potential games and the risk of injuries and suspensions.
Every thing pales into insignificance compared with promotion

Full team and keep the run going. Players want to play every game. Know it's not far, but I'll see my bum if it's a weak team and we don't have the squad to change and still have a decent team out.

We seem to be playing a lot of teams being charged by their managers to give a response immediately after a poor performance.

Wrexham on Saturday is going to be no different after they lost at home to Macclesfield 0-3 on Tuesday night. sad smiley

Quote:
DailyPost
When asked if he was worried about being dragged into a relegation dog fight, Keates replied: “(With) performances like that, yeah definitely.
“But I have never operated like that as a player and I won’t operate like that as a manager.
“This football club deserves so much better and these fans do, somehow these players need to turn the performances around.

“They will be back in tomorrow and do it properly, and they have got a game on Saturday and a response is needed.

“They owe everybody a performance on Saturday.”
Keates was clearly hurting following the loss, but has challenged his players to respond in Saturday’s FA Trophy clash at home with National League leaders Tranmere Rovers.

When asked if the players were equally hurting following the loss, he added: “I’d like to think so.
“We have had a chat, and I have asked them, I see a lot of head shaking and a lot of “yeah, yeah, yeah”, but it is easy to be saying stuff like that in the changing room, but it is out there (on the pitch) I will judge them, out there from now on.
“All the right things can be said inside, can we do this? Can we do that? I want men from now, people to stand up and be counted, I want leaders, I want people to show on the pitch, and show the fans and show everyone associated with the football club that they deserve to wear the top.”

See that Lincoln will have the weekend off. Their tie has been postponed as their opponents Shaw Lane are subject to an FA investigation regarding their previous tie versus Nantwich.

Tranmere have enough depth to tweak the match day team without needing to weaken.

Also, looking at the trophy, it appears if you win the final you get given a little man jogging on a massive bollock, encapsulated in some sort of claw hand.

Interesting design to say the least.

Two points arising from this. 1. It's another midweek tie for Lincoln and given how short a notice seems to be required between one round and the next the FA could even request that they play this next midweek versus Shaw Lane or Nantwich (whoever's favour the FA find in), meaning they play just four days before playing us. Otherwise it will be in the New Year where they already have an FA Cup 3rd round tie to fit in.
2. Sean Raggett is not going to be able to run his suspension down before Dec 17th now even with a draw in a rearranged tie.

Put a strong side out for this, we have 7 days rest either side of it. I'm going for a narrow away win

Well there's £5,000 in the coffers plus a share of the gate money (little as it will be!) an assurance that we won't have a blank weekend on 2nd round day and some minutes in the legs of three players that needed it. Full strength squad to pick from next weekend possibly!

Well done the quarter of the crowd that made the journey (567). You sounded like 90% of the crowd over the radio! smiling smiley

Might be worth posting this on your own forum where Imps fans have been bleating about missing Raggert for our clash. "There's no place like home".

sounded like a fairly straightforward win with Wrexham not offering a great deal, good opportunity to get some playing time into the legs of players coming back from injury.

Bit like a pre season feel to it. North wales police out in force. Look like they were going to war, a real over kill. Sorry but still can't except Wallace back and when he came on he was woeful. Sooner this loan is over the better. We don't need him and I for one don't want him and I'd hate to think what his wage bill is. Kay all day long to come back for me

Don't need anyone at the moment, wouldn't be in a rush to add any 34 plus year olds to the team.

To be fair,Howe was clearly their best player when we drew 1-1 with them at their place.

Because of what he said and IMO he was rubbish when he came on today. If I left a job in the way he did, I doubt very much they would take me back a few years later.

He has apologised for what he said then. I didn't go today so I can't comment on how he played. But it was only for half an hour?

If he can keep fit,he will be a great addition to our midfield and team.

A great result today, but to be honest anyone who could makes a difference would be worth considering for the long-term. You can either get promoted with a certain points total or go up with another 4-5 points and have a stronger crack at the league above.

However budget and squad size need to be monitored, to make sure it's not top heavy, but anyone who could make a great difference would be someone for Micky Mellon to consider at least at any point when he can sign them and not just at select times of the season, as sometimes procrastination could leave rivals free to steal a march.

You're entitled to your opinion of course but I completely DISAGREE with it.

Like Hoots Mon said, the lad has apologized, putting it to lack of maturity when he was with us, and he's come back, I quote, wanting to win the hearts of the fans again. I think we should embrace that, and forgive and move on.

Can't comment on how he played today but his quality is undeniable if he regains match fitness and on paper, is the best central midfielder at the club. I wasn't at the game today, but there have been quite a few games (such as Braintree away) when the central midfield has been poor and crying out for a ball winning influence like Wallace.

So in my humble opinion, I think writing him off based on comments he made in his youth (which he has apologized for) is not helpful at all.

I absolutely agree with jonesey on Wallace. Micky Mellon is a superb manager,do people on here really think for one minute that he has any doubts about the 24 year old....no.In Micky we trust and he needs our full support on player matters..he knows best.

Must have been watching a different game as the short period Wallace was on the pitch I thought he was great he nailed into 3 different tackles and was unlucky to receive a yellow for the tackle in front of our fans, but was the calming influence we needed on the ball to see the same out along with Jennings in the middle of the field. Good to see lads coming back from injury which is only going to make us stronger going into a busy and important period of the season.

So you DISAGREE, I know he has apologised, but he's still not fit enough or needed that much to play a full 90. If we needed him that much and he was making a real impression on the team, then ok, but he's not.

Would rather sure up the defensive back up if any.

As we keep saying, match fitness is totally different to being fit to play.

MM is sensible managing his game time with a view IMO to extending his loan.

I was also totally disgusted with his attitude when he left but, as previously stated he has apologized and if he helps us to get out of this league I will be delighted.

And as an opponent in a training game he must be making the other players improve their game even if he doesn't play much (at the moment) for the first team.
