For once Tranmere saw quite a bit of action in this season's January transfer window, as three players left the club, two permanently, bringing in two loan signings themselves.
Rovers manager Les Parry was just able to get his fingers out of the window before it was slammer shut, as he signed young Watford striker Marvin Sordell less than an hour before the 5pm deadline time.
The 18-year old joined Tranmere on an initial one-month loan deal at roughly 4.10pm on February 1st, with Tranmere able to extend the deal by a further two months should the striker impress.
Tranmere also made one other signing in the window, bringing back central-defender Chris McCready to the club as he signed on-loan from Northampton until the end of the season.

Although signing nearly two weeks ago, McCready is yet to play since his return to Prenton Park, where he spent a season in 2006/07, but the Ellesmere Port born former Crewe player will provide vital defensive cover if and when he's called upon.
Whilst two players have joined the club, two have also been released having been at Prenton Park for less than six months.
Former England striker Michael Ricketts was released by manager Les Parry mid-way through the month having failed to ever impress whilst on the Wirral, with his poor fitness a major point of criticism from the fans, whilst Seb Carol, another one of John Barnes' signing, left on December 31st when his contract expired, with Carol having only made two appearances for the club.
This month has also seen promising midfielder Ryan Fraughan leave the club, although only on a temporary basis.

The young blonde haired creative midfielder joined Aberystwyth Town on a loan deal until the end of the season on Friday, making his debut on Saturday as the Welsh Premier Division side lost 2-0.
One player has returned to Tranmere after a loan spell too, with Grenada striker Kithson Bain returning to Prenton Park after a short period at Blue Square Conference side Kettering Town.
Although he is injured at the moment, this could provide Bain's chance to shine for Rovers as the club lack fire power up front, though he will have a lot to do to convince the manager to give him a game.
So Tranmere have had a reasonably busy January, with Les Parry chasing several clubs in a bid to sign a striker before the signing of Sordell, whilst the releasing of Carol and Ricketts freed up some important wage money to be spent on the loan deals.
This though doesn't necessarily conclude Tranmere's transfer action for the season though, as they are still able to sign players on loan until the three Thursday in March.
