By Deadly Submarine October 26 2009 Total Tranmere is asking for your help as we look to gain views on Football Stadiums in general and the visits that you as fans of Tranmere make to the different and varying Stadiums around the country in the name of supporting your beloved team.......
Total Tranmere are always happy to help fans of Football teams around the Country so when we were contacted recently by Watford Fan Matthew Green asking for our help, we were more than happy to pass his request onto you the readers of this site.
Matthew is a 3rd year student at the University of Nottingham and is currently undertaking his dissertation which will make up a substantial percentage of his final result. As a Geography student, but also a passionate football fan (Watford), Matthew has decided to combine the two interests and present a thesis on the changing form and locations of British football grounds and how this reflects broader socio-cultural changes in the modern urban environment.
Part of this includes having to gather data as a research project and he is currently trying to collect data through a short questionnaire to fans up and down ,the country through websites such as Total Tranmere.
So in response to this, we at Total Tranmere are asking you to fill in the short questionnaire on the link below and we can then send the results to Matthew for use in his project.
Your help would be much appreciated if you have a spare five minutes (maybe less) to help out a fellow football fan. The questions are not complicated and just ask for your views about visiting other Stadiums as well as Prenton Park as well so please find the time to help out if you can....
I have heared it said that Tranmere only need a stadium to seat 10,000, to which I replied that to have one larger than your current gates leaves room for ambition, and a small one no ambition.
Were Tranmere to settle for less seating, the removal of the top of the cop would remove what is a blight on the surroundings.
But then, are we interested in that or just stadiums generally ? Why ask ? I'm sure 'we' are not concerned about others ?
You don't need seating for small gates !
I watch a lot of games following the Yranmere Ladies, Youth Team and Reservrs, and I am more and more enjoying watching standing on the sidelines or leaning on the boards for the match !
The honnsty and industry are great to watch, and I think at this level the atmosphere is not dependant on the size of the crowd, there is always a good feeling amongst the people there watching the match, many of whom are the relatives of those playing on both sides. And to watch Tranmere win 9 - 0 last weekend was excellent
I always used to watch the reserves and wondered why more didn't ? £2 against £7 A look at the up and comming players, and while you wanted a win, the result not life shattering.
Pity we lost Man UNited, L'pool, Everton, et al.
Stadiums ? Look at 'REjected FC ' and wince, but see where the ardent followers once stood and even released a pidgeon
with the half time score.
