By Deadly Submarine
July 8 2009
As part of a summer series to keep the site ticking over during the quieter times of the close season, we have posed a series of questions to Tranmere Fans all around the World. After so far speaking to three exiled fans and three local fans, it's time to talk to yet another exile in the shape of Andrew Charlesworth who posts on Total Tranmere as Mini-Andy..........

NUMBER 7 - ANDREW CHARLESWORTH (SWINDON)

What is your Name and where do you Live?

Andrew Charlesworth, I live down in Swindon How old are you and for how long have you supported Rovers?

I'm 22 and have been supporting Rovers for about 15 years.

Who or what made you support the Superwhites?

Family Connections.

What was your first ever Rovers Game?

If I'm honest, I can't remember (I have a terrible memory).  All I remember is getting really excited about going with the rest of the family! Then spending the whole match waiting for the ball to either go over the Borough Road Stand, or out wide to Johnny Morrissey or Pat Nevin.

As an exiled fan, how many Rovers games do you manage to get to each season on average?

It varies from year to year, last season I only managed four for whatever reasons.  Next year I hope to go to about eight.

Where do you usually sit at Prenton Park?

When I was younger we used to sit in the Main Stand, however in recent year I have converted to the Kop - because it's cheaper!

Who is your all-time favourite Rovers Player?

Aldo or Jason Koumas I can't decide.

Who is the worst Rovers Player you've seen?

I would probably say Hazell, on the few occasions I saw him, he was awful!

What was your favourite ever Rovers Game?

Of the ones I've been to it's one of two, either Bolton at home in the second leg of the Worthy Cup semi finals, or I can't remember which year but Cardiff at home on a Friday night. In terms of for Tranmere as a club, it has to be when we crossed the river and spanked the blues!!

Select your All-Time Best Rovers XI:

Nixon, Yates, Hill, Goodison, Roberts, Nevin, Koumas, Henry, Morrissey, Aldridge, Kelly

What is your Favourite Away Ground?

The County Ground (Swindon) due to its location, or White Hart Lane, thought it was a great ground when we went there a few years ago.

Have you ever been to Wembley with Rovers and if so which year and which match?

Since I've been a fan, Rovers have been there once.............. I was on a non refundable holiday!  Also missed the Newcastle game the week before because of that holiday! Gutted!

What is your all-time Awful Rovers XI?

I wouldn't like to name a whole team, I tend to think that who-ever is playing, is all we could get/afford, so I turn a blind eye to their mistakes!

If you were in charge at Prenton Park, what changes would you make?

I would move the home fans back to the Cowshed, giving the away fans the bottom half of the Kop, with the upper closed, except when a big club comes to town, when they could have the whole of the Kop. I would like to see PJ either invest in the club, or move on.

I would also put more trust in some of the reserve team, it seems every time we have an injury, we move into the loan market instead of our reserves.

After missing out this season, where do you think Rovers will finish next season?

Unless we get someone in who can find the back of the net regularly, probably about 8th.

Tell us something interesting or unusual about your support for Rovers over the years?

My mum's Cousin is married to Iain Hume. Not strictly Rovers related but there we go, apart form that I'm just a regular Rovers fan!

Have you ever worked for/been involved with the Club aside from being a Fan?

Nope!

Total Tranmere would like to thank Andrew for his interview!

Stay tuned to Total Tranmere this week for an eighth interview in the series with another local based Tranmere Fan once again.

I have just been informed that my first game was Oxford away. I must have been small as my dad lifted me over the turnstile so he didn't have to play for me (with the stewards permission)!

Also it would appear it is my mums cousins doaghter that is married to Iain Hume.

Very topical now, my cousin went out with Alan Mahon back in the day. Then Jason Koumas after that haha
