NUMBER 6 - STEPHEN MCKEOWN (BIRKENHEAD)
What is your Name and where do you Live?My name is Stephen McKeown and I live in Birkenhead, Wirral.
How old are you and for how long have you supported Rovers?
I am 16 years old and have followed Rovers thoroughly since 2003.
Who or what made you support the Superwhites?I had gone to Tranmere games previously with family but it was every now and then. I started going to watch Tranmere games regularly with Mikey B from Total Tranmere and from there it really took off, I got the ‘buzz' and I wanted to experience more.
What was your first ever Rovers Game?My first ever game was when I was about eight. It was a 2-0 win against Bradford City in 2000 in the First Division.
Where do you usually sit at Prenton Park?
Top left of Paddock (when looking directly from the Johnny King).
Who is your all-time favourite Rovers Player?
Stuart Barlow.
Who is the worst Rovers Player you've seen?
Iffy Onoura.
What was your favourite ever Rovers Game?My favourite all time Rovers game was when we came back from 3-0 down to defeat then Premier League side Southampton in the FA Cup replay. The game also had extra twist for me that night as my dad took me in the away end and we ended up watching with a bunch of fuming Saints fans! (I still don't know to this day how we managed to get in wearing Tranmere scarfs!)
Select your All-Time Best Rovers XI:
AchterbergTaylor Goodison Mountfield Yates
Parkinson Whitmore Koumas Nevin
Dadi Barlow
What is your Favourite Away Ground?Carlisle United, I've been there three times and each time the support is immense.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Picture above taken at Carlisle and I think you feature on it if you look closely enough Ste.
Have you ever been to Wembley with Rovers and if so which year and which match? No, unfortunately I did not get tickets for our Worthington Cup Final. Biggest mistake yet!
What is your all-time Awful Rovers XI?Murray
Summerbee Navarro Sharps Sherriff
Beresford Onoura Mullin Aiston
Facey Hay
If you were in charge at Prenton Park, what changes would you make?
One point I would make is to bring more of the youngsters through and give them a chance; we have proven the quality of our youth over the years.
After missing out this season, where do you think Rovers will finish next season?Personally I think it will be hard to replicate this season's achievement because there are so many clubs with more financial strength and a lot of our key players are still uncertain over whether to go or stay. I'll go for a mid table finish.
Tell us something interesting or unusual about your support for Rovers over the years?Apart from being in the away end for the Southampton cup match then no that's all!
Have you ever worked for/been involved with the Club aside from being a Fan?
I have worked in the community with Tranmere helping younger ones take up football at my schools local Astroturf.
Total Tranmere would like to thank Stephen for his interview and for his continuing support for Total Tranmere - both the website and the Site's football team!
Stay tuned to Total Tranmere this week for a seventh interview in the series with another exiled Tranmere Fan once again.
