With all the talk about a current Man Utd player, Wayne Rooney, wanting away from his club you could be forgiven for not realising that another ex-Man Utd starlet has also been linked away from his club.
In the papers today Sunderland defender Phil Bardsley has been linked with moves away from Wearside with one of the interested party being Newcastle.
Bardsley is primarily a hard working defensive right back who doesn't get forward too well.
He can also play left back - the position he has made his own since Kieran Richardson's injury.
Personally, I'd be sad to see Bardsley go as he is a decent player who provides fullback cover, either on the left or the right, in case of injuries or lack of form.
One thing he get's criticised for are his wild shots if a chance presents itself but maybe, just maybe, if our midfielder's were as unafraid to take a shot as Bardsley is they'd be scoring a few more goals.
