Sunderland striker Darren Bent has been crowned as the North East player of the year.
Darren Bent is the, much deserved, winner of the 2010 North East player of the year award.
The region's biggest football award saw Bent win the biggest landslide of the awards 30 year history.
Bent, who scored his first goal for his country last week, became Sunderland's record signing last summer when he joined the club from Tottenham.
The 26-year-old scored 25 goals for Steve Bruce's side last season.
Bent will be presented with the award at the annual dinner at the Ramside Hall Hotel, Durham on Sunday 12th December.
