Pulis Warns Game Will Be Tough
By Cliff
November 3 2011
Stoke boss Tony Pulis has warned that the game against Maccabi Tel Aviv will be a much tougher one that when the teams met at the Brit a couple of weeks ago.

Stoke had the game won by the 32nd minute after the Potters raced into a 3-0 lead. Shortly after Cameron Jerome saw red and Stoke could not add to their tally, although the game was already won.

But stats show that Maccabi are a very different prospect when they play at home on their Bloomfield Stadium, they have not lost a European game there in the last twelve, stretching back to 2004.

Stoke have had it tough this week. They lost to Newcastle on Monday night, play in Israel tonight and then have to go away to take on Bolton at the Rebok Arena on Sunday.

But Pulis believes his players will come through especially as they have an international break coming up.

The Stoke boss said: "I think the game will be different tomorrow. The fact Maccabi have a fantastic home record shows they're a different proposition at home, and it's always difficult going to any ground and playing away.

"We feel it will be a really tough game for us and we'll put a strong team out. We played Monday night, we play Thursday and we play Sunday but then it's international break so the players who aren't involved in international duty can have a few days off."
