An evenly matched first half in which both sides had chances with each sides most notable efforts both coming from volleys from Kevin Nolan and Jamie Redknapp.
Spurs took the lead in the fifty-eighth minute when Irish hotshot Robbie Keane fired home only for Wanderers' French wizard Youri Djorkaeff to equalise three minutes later.
Bolton then had a period of pressure but it was Spurs who went back into the lead when Keane grabbed his second and then Spurs clinched it late on through Welsh international midfielder Simon Davies to give the North London side a 3-1 victory.
