Stranraer closed the gap on leaders Stirling Albion thanks to a double strike by David Graham and single strikes by Fraser Wright and Alan Jenkins.

The Blues looked the more threatening side straight from the kickoff. In the third minute Murray Henderson nodded a free-kick into the path of Michael Moore and the striker's shot was well stopped by 'keeper Jim Butler.

Only five minutes later Kevin Finlayson broke free, but again Butler was on form and blocked the shot well.

Fraser Wright finally opened the scoring for the Blues in the 17th minute. A Lee Sharp corner was headed down by Michael Moore and Wright made no mistake from only yards out.

Montrose rose to the challenge of being a goal down to mount an attack on the Stranraer goal. Keith Gibson gathered the ball, but is shot was saved by an alert Andy McCondichie.

Stranraer extended their led to two goals in the 19th minute when David Graham cut in from the right side of the field and fired the ball just inside the upright.

Midfielder Keith Gibson pulled one back for the Loons in the 34th minute when a loose ball fell at his feet and he duly obliged by slotting the ball into the Stranraer net from ten yards out.

Just before half-time David Graham made it 1-3. Stephen Swift crossed the ball from the bye-line to the onrushing Graham who calmly popped it into the net.

The second half failed to live up the the breakneck pace of the first, but with only nine minutes of the match remaining skipper Alan Jenkins fired home a thundering shot from thirty yards out.

Men of the Match- David Graham a brace from the Stranraer hitman shows he can easily takeover if Michael Moore leaves Stair Park.
