Report for the Second Division Match between Stranraer and Hamilton Accies. The Blues are still in eighth place but only just on goal difference. With only four games left Stranraer must up their performances in order to stay in the second division.

STRANRAER

0-0

Hamilton Accies

Stranraer started the better of the two sides but the early control the Blues had of the game was lost when Andy Scott's wild lunge at Stuart Callaghan resulted in the midfielder being red carded which left Stranraer in a weak position for the rest of the match.

Stranraer did nearly take the lead however. A Michael Moore flick on found Ian Harty who had to reach for the ball and therefore his shot was only directed straight at Hamilton's keeper McFarlane.

Soon after Hamilton rattled a post. Stevie Aitken stupidly handled the ball and Dylan Kerr wacked the ball past McCulloch but he was saved by the post.

Stranraer weren't outplayed in the second half but they didn't create that many chances. Ian Harty had the best chance when his header was excellently clawed out of the goal by McFarlane. Accies were getting frustrated and it was made worse by Allan Russell's volley which blazed over the bar with just Willie McCulloch to beat.

STRANRAER M.O.M. - Allan Jenkins yet again he ran for everything

OVERALL SUMMARY- considering they played 65 mins with 10 men they did really well. Defence looked solid enough.
